Prize Scams

When I was growing up, the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes was such a big deal. People would fill out the form and mail it in to receive a big prize of money. The winner would be announced on television with a television crew showing up at their front door unannounced with a big check showing the amount that they had won. Today, you can register online but the one thing that has not changed is they will still show up at your door unannounced to let you know that you are a winner. I have received several emails from victims who have been contacted by scammers pretending to be from the company. PCH will never call, email or text you to let you know that you have won a prize. If you receive a check in the mail from PCH, it is probably a fake check, and they will never ask for you to send them money in order to receive the prize. I have included a link below to their official website page discussing fraud protection.
