Why I Created Stop Elderly Scams
I created Stop Elderly Scams because I witnessed firsthand the emotional and financial pain that scams inflict on older adults — people who should be spending their later years in peace and dignity, not fear and shame.
Too often, seniors are targeted because they are trusting, isolated, or unfamiliar with fast-moving technology. And when they are scammed, they don’t just lose money — they lose confidence, security, and, sometimes, relationships. Worse, many are too embarrassed to tell anyone what happened.
As a daughter, friend, and advocate, I couldn’t stay silent. I founded Stop Elderly Scams to give seniors and their families a safe, trusted space to learn, share, and protect one another. Our mission is to educate the public, prevent exploitation, and make sure no older adult suffers in silence.
This nonprofit is more than an organization — it’s a movement to bring light, voice, and justice to a growing crisis. And it’s built on the belief that awareness saves lives.
